Environmental Lawyer Ivan DeVoren Joins Energy Law Firm of Burleson LLP

PITTSBURGH, Sept. 15, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Burleson LLP announced today that Ivan DeVoren, who has more than two decades of experience practicing environmental law, has joined the Houston-based energy law firm as a Partner in its Pittsburgh office.

DeVoren has a broad background in all areas of environmental law, including those that impact oil and gas exploration and production, storage, site development, waste and wastewater management, and air and water emissions.  His areas of concentration also include corporate and securities; mergers, acquisitions, and divestitures; real estate; natural resources; and business and contracts.

In addition to natural resource development, his background includes counseling many sectors of traditional industry and manufacturing, such as industrial, commercial, pharmaceutical, and chemical businesses.  DeVoren has advised companies with facilities, properties, and operations throughout the United States and across the globe.  He has assisted businesses in evaluating environmental, reporting, compliance, remediation, and restoration obligations, and has represented companies before regulatory agencies regarding violation notices, penalty assessments, and compliance agreements and schedules.

DeVoren earned his undergraduate degree from Penn State's Smeal College of Business and his law degree cum laude from the Temple University Beasley School of Law in Philadelphia.
