Under terms of the new agreement, EIA and Waste360 will work together to offer the waste and recycling industry a superior tradeshow and education programs and work collaboratively to provide the industry new and expanded marketing and education offerings, while growing membership and member benefits. EIA will receive a portion of the proceeds both from exhibitors at WasteExpo who are EIA members and from other marketing through Waste360. EIA and Penton also will work together to launch new products and provide services that benefit EIA's members and Penton's customers.
For 46 years, WasteExpo has been North America's largest and most innovative exposition and conference for the waste and recycling industry, and Waste360 is the leading source of news for waste and recycling industry professionals from private refuse firms, recycling firms and governmental entities.
WasteExpo 2014 will be held in Atlanta from April 28-May 1 (see www.wasteexpo.com). Penton's Waste Industry Group harnesses the power of its many media properties to serve the waste and recycling industry. The industry widely consumes this content in the form of print, live events, online learning and digital opportunities and more and includes not only Waste360 magazine and WasteExpo but also The Global Waste Management Symposium, The Healthcare Waste Conference, the Waste360 OnDemand Library, The Waste Training Institute, the Circular File and five other topical and timely e-newsletters.
EIA's President and CEO Sharon H. Kneiss said, "As the waste and recycling industry and the media world are evolving, so is the relationship between EIA and Penton. As our industry increasingly relies on new technologies and innovation, this partnership will help maintain EIA, WasteExpo and Waste360 as vital, relevant sources of information for industry leaders. Our relationship with Penton creates important synergies benefiting EIA's members, WasteExpo exhibitors and attendees and the entire waste and recycling industry."
"We are very pleased to significantly expand our relationship with EIA," said Warren N. Bimblick, Penton's senior vice president, strategy and business development. "The new relationship reinforces our commitment to this industry and extends many new benefits to our subscribers and attendees, including enhanced education and access to new types of content, plus gives marketers added reason to use our marketing services while providing added incentives of membership with EIA."
