DALLAS, Nov. 15, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Entrust President and CEO Bill Conner will join an exclusive panel of security industry experts to discuss emerging cybersecurity threats at the "Explore the Cyber Threat Evolution" luncheon on Friday, Nov. 16, from 12-2 p.m. PST at The St. Regis San Francisco (125 3rd Street, San Francisco Museum of Modern Art).
Sponsored by Solera Networks, the keynote speaker will be retired U.S. Air Force Gen. Michael V. Hayden, former director of the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA). The panel discussion will be moderated by Brian White, managing director and chief strategy officer for The Chertoff Group.
"Enterprises today are being subjected to ongoing, sophisticated cyberattacks that can jeopardize an entire organization," said Conner. "From within the enterprise to the mobile environment, security tools and solutions of the past will not be adequate as the landscape of threats continues to change. This panel will serve as an ideal forum to share insight about current threats while offering valuable commentary regarding what the future holds and how organizations should prepare by creating an identity framework to keep networks safe."
The panel discussion will focus on the tools and resources necessary to protect networks both now and in the future. The event also will provide best practices to uncover and combat advanced threats in real time through situational awareness and actionable intelligence. Additional participants include: Steve Shillingford, CEO and president, Solera Networks; Kevin Mandia, CEO, Mandiant; and Art Gilliland, senior vice president, HP Software Enterprise Security Products.
Over the course of two and a half decades in the high-tech industry, Conner has emerged as one of the foremost security and infrastructure experts in the world. He has been referenced in a variety of media outlets including The New York Times, Time magazine and C-SPAN.
In February, Conner testified at the U.S. Subcommittee on Communications and Technology's cybersecurity hearing, "Cybersecurity: Threats to Communications Networks and Private-Sector Responses," to discuss threats to the nation's digital online commerce channels and communications networks. He also delivered a keynote address, in addition to the Secretary of Homeland Security Janet Napolitano, at the 2011 West Virginia Homeland Security Summit and Expo sponsored by Senator Jay Rockefeller.
