Entertainment Studios Networks Names Janice Arouh President, Domestic Distribution and Marketing
LOS ANGELES, April 27 /PRNewswire/ -- Entertainment Studios Networks (www.es.tv) proudly announces the appointment of industry veteran, Janice Arouh, as President Domestic Distribution and Marketing. Arouh will join Entertainment Studios on May 10, 2010. Arouh is currently Executive Vice President Affiliate Sales and Marketing, Hallmark Channel and Hallmark Movie Channel.

In her new capacity, Arouh will oversee all facets of domestic distribution and marketing for all of Entertainment Studios' six 24-hour HD television networks: PETS.TV, COMEDY.TV, RECIPE.TV, CARS.TV, ES.TV, and MYDESTINATION.TV Arouh's duties will include sales strategy, national accounts, contractual negotiations, affiliate relations, sales operations and various business development initiatives including spearheading the company's expansion into 3D networks.

Among Arouh's many accomplishments at Hallmark Channel and Hallmark Movie Channel; Hallmark Channel grew revenue and distribution to nearly 90 million subscribers and secured renewals with 95% of distributors. Arouh also supervised the launch of Hallmark Movie Channel in HD which is in 35 million Nielsen homes since its launch in April, 2008, and Hallmark Channel in HD on February 1, 2010. Hallmark Movie Channel was the fastest growing network in 2009, adding nearly 16 million subscribers and is projected to be in 40 million Nielsen homes by the end of 2010.
Prior to joining Hallmark Channel in 2004, Arouh was Senior Vice President Affiliate Marketing at Fox Cable Networks which includes Fox Sports Net, FX, Fox Movie Channel, Fox Soccer Channel, SPEED and National Geographic Channel. Arouh and her team won eight awards for excellence in network affiliate marketing including CTAM Mark Awards, Promax, and BDA Awards in 2003. Prior to that position, she held several distribution positions throughout the News Corp. cable units since 1994 including FX Networks, Fox/Liberty Networks, TV Guide Networks and Fox Family. She was an integral part of the original FX Networks distribution launch team for News Corp's. entry into basic cable seeking distribution for FX and fXM: Fox Movie Channel. FX (one of the most successful basic cable launches in history) and fXM: Fox Movie Channel (the first studio based network).
She has been the recipient of the 2005 WICT Southern California Lifetime Achievement Award. In recognition of her contributions to the industry, she was inducted into the 2008 Class of Wonder Women by Multichannel News. Janice is a role model for young professionals entering the cable industry and plays an important role in the affairs of organizations both within and outside the cable television industry. She is committed to the causes of women, healthcare and protecting our wildlife. She was the Treasurer for the Women in Cable Telecommunications (WICT) Board of Directors, and formerly served as a Board Member of Southern California Cable Positive. She also served as a Board Member of the Southern California Cable and Telecommunications Association. She is a friend and volunteer of the California Wildlife Center in Malibu, supporting their efforts to provide sick, injured and orphaned native wildlife quality medical care and rehabilitation. Recently, she was awarded the 2009 Lupus LA Woman of Achievement and works tirelessly to bring awareness about Lupus LA to her friends and colleagues.
Arouh earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in communications from John Carroll University. She resides in Los Angeles with her husband, Bert, and their two children.
