ST. LOUIS, March 1, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Dozens of business, nonprofit and community leaders will gather at Enterprise Holdings' Global Headquarters today to preview the upcoming Enactus National Exposition taking place May 15-17, 2016, at St. Louis' America's Center. An international nonprofit organization, Enactus encourages university students to change the world through entrepreneurial action.
Enterprise Holdings Inc., through its regional subsidiaries and franchises, operates a global network of more than 9,000 fully staffed airport and neighborhood locations under the Enterprise Rent-A-Car, National Car Rental and Alamo Rent A Car brands. The company has been working with Enactus as a strategic recruitment partner for 15 years. Today's event, sponsored by Enterprise Holdings, Edward Jones and KPMG, will feature remarks from Enactus' National Exposition host committee.
The gathering provides the opportunity to preview the National Exposition and learn more about Enactus while networking with St. Louis area executives. Chrissy Taylor, Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer for Enterprise Holdings, will host the attendees.
Each year, Enactus gathers a select group of approximately 4,000 student, academic, business, government and foundation leaders from around the nation to demonstrate, through competition, how entrepreneurial action is transforming lives and creating a better future. The National Exposition annually showcases student projects with the momentum to create new careers, spark business innovation and deliver social impact.
Enterprise has been averaging more than 120 Enactus student hires each year. Most of Enterprise's full-time entry-level employees get their start in the renowned Enterprise Rent-A-Car Management Training or Management Internship program. From day one, management trainees receive hands-on training that teaches them how to run a business, empower teams and provide excellent face-to-face customer service. College students in the Management Internship program take on many of the same tasks, gaining real-world experience while honing their entrepreneurial skills.
"Enactus prepares college students to become exceptional employees who demonstrate tremendous skills in leadership, project management, work ethic, empathy, communications and critical thinking," Taylor said. "That is the same skillset that produces the top performers in our Management Training program, which prepares employees to become the next generation of our company's leadership."
Enterprise employees have a chance to advance their careers quickly, thanks in large part to the thorough preparation they receive through the Management Training program. In addition, Enterprise Holdings' promote-from-within culture is a driving force behind its need to recruit thousands of innovative, college-educated individuals each year. In fact, last year nearly 15,000 employees were promoted or took on new challenges in various positions throughout the company. This contributes to new opportunities for recently hired management trainees and a need to add even more.
