This year, 22 Enterprise operating groups were honored for their commitment to integrating the company's core values into their daily operations. Each of the honorees will receive a $20,000 grant from the Enterprise Holdings Foundation to put to good use with non-profits in their local communities.
As part of Enterprise Holdings' strategy for long-term growth, the annual Founding Values Award recognizes local operating groups that best address these priority areas day-to-day: Operations, Work-Life Quality, Public Affairs and Philanthropy, Diversity and Inclusion, Business Ethics and Environmental Conservation. These six points make up what is known as the Cultural Compass. Since the launch of the Founding Values program in 2003, thousands of best practices, operating enhancements and new partnerships have been realized across the company.
"In a little more than a decade, it's gone beyond being just an award – it's become a management discipline," said Jo Ann Taylor Kindle, president Enterprise Holdings Foundation. "This annual competition, named for my father, is actually a strategic management initiative that challenges our senior managers and their teams to integrate our company's core values into their business planning and operations."
Every year, Enterprise Holdings' operating groups submit entries that outline their respective goals, action plans and results around the six points of the Cultural Compass.
In 2013, a record 22 groups – from Central Canada to South Florida, Atlanta to Oregon – received the Founding Values Award. Local donations will be announced at a later date.
