ST. LOUIS, Oct. 2, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Enterprise Holdings plans to hire thousands of college-educated, career-oriented men and women in the coming year. The company will hire nearly 8,500 college graduates and more than 1,500 interns into its Enterprise Rent-A-Car Management Training program and Management Internship program, respectively. Enterprise Holdings, through its regional subsidiaries, operates the largest fleet of vehicles in the world through a global network of more than 8,200 airport and neighborhood locations under the Enterprise Rent-A-Car, National Car Rental and Alamo Rent A Car brands.

In addition, other full-time time opportunities such as positions in information technology, accounting, administration and support roles, are also available through the company at both regional offices and at the corporate offices in St. Louis, Mo. Overall, Enterprise Holdings will hire more than 11,000 full-time employees this year, including its 8,500 new management trainees.
Enterprise's promote-from-within culture is the major driver behind its need to recruit thousands of new employees annually. Last year alone, nearly 11,000 individuals were promoted or took on new challenges in various positions throughout the company, contributing to new opportunities for recently hired management trainees, and a need to add even more.
"We put people in a position to succeed immediately, and we promote almost exclusively from within – that makes Enterprise an ideal choice for those just beginning or reinventing their careers," said Marie Artim, vice president, talent acquisition, at Enterprise. "For more than five decades, thousands of highly motivated, customer service-focused employees have been rewarded with plenty of opportunity and enjoyed tremendous careers within our company."
From day one, both the Management Training and Management Internship programs feature hands-on experiences that teach employees and interns how to run a business, empower teams and provide excellent face-to-face customer service. Other hallmarks of the programs include extensive training in a wide range of business skills, including profit and loss management, business-to-business marketing and sales, and logistics planning. Thanks in large part to this thorough preparation, Enterprise provides employees with a chance to advance their careers at a faster pace than many other entry-level employers.
"Our senior leadership team, including President and CEO Pam Nicholson, all started out in entry level positions at Enterprise," said Artim. "And because we promote from within up to our senior ranks, management trainees are crucial to building the next generation of leaders at our company."
Steve McCarty, Enterprise's vice president of training and talent development, added, "Enterprise's strong emphasis on cultivating our talent from within means that new employees receive hands-on training from very capable mentors who've been in their shoes. There's no substitute for world class formalized and on-the-job training from seasoned managers who know the business inside and out, and that's precisely what we offer our management trainees and interns to help ensure that they're successful right from the start."
