Enterasys Honored with Three Prestigious Manufacturing Leadership 100 Awards for 2013
Enterasys Recognized for Innovative Enterprise and Information Leadership for Second Consecutive Year
SALEM, N.H., March 14, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Enterasys Networks, a Siemens Enterprise Communications Company, has been recognized with three 2013 Manufacturing Leadership 100 Awards (ML100 Awards). For 2013, Enterasys is in elite company being only one of four companies to win three ML100 awards. Other triple winners are IBM, Lexmark International and Lockheed-Martin.
The recognition is a testament to Enterasys' pursuit of continuous improvement, rapid product development and implementing novel process improvements to bring high quality/high value products to enterprise customers. The winning developments include:
- Robotic Optical Inspection – To prevent mechanical assembly defects, Enterasys manufactured an automated robotic optical inspection system, called NaDIA, which performs real-time analysis to identify assembly mistakes or damage of manufactured products – a system unique in the electronics assembly industry.
- 3D Printing & Prototyping – The Mechanical Engineering and Design Services team implemented a rapid prototype system to test concept design form and fit. The 3D prototype printer sped up the turn-around time of early concept models and helped to compress overall new product introduction cycle time.
- SmartSheet – SmartSheet is a "state of the art," cloud-based collaboration technology adopted by Enterasys to enhance business processes (displacing existing tools MS SharePoint, MS Project, Excel, etc.). This collaboration across world time zones has led to more timely communication with suppliers with real-time project management status enabling teams to make better decisions.
Now in their ninth year, the Manufacturing Leadership 100 Awards honor companies and individuals that are shaping the future of global manufacturing. These awards recognize the most innovative and forward-thinking companies across 11 categories spanning all global enterprises. The winners of the 2013 ML100 awards represent nine different countries on three continents, with winners hailing from the United States, Canada, China, Germany, India, Mexico, Saudi Arabia, Singapore, and Switzerland.
"We are honored to receive three Manufacturing Leadership 100 Awards for 2013 as we constantly strive to excel in product manufacturing and innovation leadership," said Brad Martin, Vice President, Engineering Operations and Quality, Enterasys. "We collaborate with customers and partners to deliver real-time visibility into critical business operations and our advanced product technologies are manufactured to ensure the highest quality and top notch customer service."
Enterasys will be honored and presented with the awards at the Manufacturing Leadership Summit Awards Gala, taking place May 13-15 at The Breakers in West Palm Beach, FL.
