Now through November 30, two lucky winners will be chosen to receive their choice of three GE appliances valued at up to $5,000 retail value, plus $200 towards installation.
Company officials say that requests for appliance repairs are growing every year, and they hope the sweepstakes will not only make the winners happy, but also help draw attention to the need for homeowners to have a plan ready in the event of a breakdown.
"In just the past five years, our customers have placed more than 3.6 million service requests for appliances that have broken down," said Mike Clear, vice president of operations for American Home Shield, a business unit of ServiceMaster Global Holdings, Inc. (NYSE: SERV). "Our customers appreciate the fact that they have access to one of the nation's largest networks of independent service contractors, and can place a service request with us anytime, day or night, to let us know when they need help."
The company's social media channels are filled with helpful tips for homeowners, including how to troubleshoot troublesome appliance problems. They are also center-stage when it comes to entering the "You Pick Three" sweepstakes.
"There are over 250 helpful videos on the American Home Shield YouTube channel, and they've had over 10 million views. We have a lot of great, free resources available online to homeowners," said Clear. "Our home warranties help our customers control unexpected repair or replacement costs when a covered item breaks down, but our social channels have terrific tips for helping homeowners avoid breakdowns in the first place."
