INDIANAPOLIS, Sept. 15, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Ushering in a new era of ultra-high resolution in-line inspection (ILI), Entegra LLP successfully completed the first ever mission with their latest platform. In its maiden voyage, Entegra's 6-inch MFL/Caliper combination technology tool achieved first run success in a 3 mile long Ethane pipeline near Baton Rouge, Louisiana.
Entegra's patent-pending ILI tools provide the clearest picture, yet, of the current condition of oil, gas, and chemical pipelines. The entire fleet employs a smart sampling schema and twice the number of magnetic flux leakage and caliper sensors to achieve nearly four times the data resolution, when compared to other state-of-the-art technologies. Pipeline owners and operators use this technology to proactively detect, identify, and quantify potential threats to the safe operation of a pipeline, including corrosion due to damaged coating and dents and mechanical damage from third party intrusion.
In partnership with an energy-focused private equity firm, Entegra has established research and development, engineering, and manufacturing facilities in Toronto, Canada. Its sales and operations facilities are located in Indianapolis, IN and Houston, TX.
Entegra president, Mark Olson states, "I couldn't be more proud of these guys. With over a thousand part numbers and several hundred thousand lines of firmware code; to bring all these custom designed mechanical and electronic pieces together, from the ground up, in such a short amount of time is truly an amazing accomplishment. No other team in the world could've accomplished what these guys have achieved – and gotten it right the first time!"
