Enhanced Santrax Electronic Visit Verification Functionality for Consumer Directed Services Programs
Consumer Directed Functionality Empowers Members to Better Manage Personal Care Services
PORT WASHINGTON, N.Y., Sept. 15, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Sandata Technologies, LLC, a leading national provider of information technology solutions to the home care industry, today announced the release of expanded Santrax electronic visit verification functionality to further support Consumer Directed Services Programs. The enhanced functionality includes personal care services authorization support and tracking, an enhanced Plan of Care module, and client voice recording capabilities. These enhancements are specifically designed to improve beneficiary care as the beneficiaries themselves and the personal care agencies that administer the services are better able to monitor and track the delivery of care at home.
Sandata's enhanced Consumer Directed Services functionality allows beneficiaries or their PCA advocate to input and edit authorizations, create, edit and delete Plans of Care, and monitor services against authorizations. Beneficiaries can readily track authorization spend down through easy to read indicators in green, yellow and red authorization status buttons indicating whether or not authorized services remain. These tools will support continued independence for persons with physical disabilities while redirecting Medicaid dollars toward lower cost, in-home, consumer directed services eliminating the necessity of placement in residential facilities due to lack of options.
Sandata partnered with Paraquad, a Missouri-based Senior Independent Living Center that administers Consumer Directed Home Care Services to help develop this enhanced functionality. For over 40 years, Paraquad has been providing a variety of services that address the needs of individuals with all types of disabilities. Missouri's CDS Program allows an individual to direct his or her own personal assistance services at no cost to the consumer. Missouri estimates that they will achieve $8 million in projected savings in total funds over a 12-month period following the implementation of state-wide electronic verification systems for personal care. Estimated cost savings are primarily attributable to more accurate billing.
According to Jeff Silverman, Sandata's Chief Sales and Marketing Officer, "Sandata's Santrax Electronic Visit Verification enhanced Consumer Directed Services functionality is another example of Sandata's continuous technology innovations. This new functionality will help our Home Care Agency and Payor partners who service and support Consumer Directed Programs increase efficiency and compliance and improve the overall quality of care while reducing fraud, waste and abuse. Sandata will continue to develop innovative solutions that meet the ever evolving needs of our customers and enhance support of our core principles of the 5 rights: the right beneficiary receives the right services at the right time, at the right location, by the right caregiver."
