English Punters to Hit the Bookies for Six!

MANCHESTER, England, November 23, 2010 /PRNewswire/ -- Bookmakers Betfred have reported record turnover on the Ashes Series with England well supported to win.

The Three Lions have not won an Ashes series down under since Mike Gatting's side in 1987 yet all the punters are backing England.

Betfred spokesman Mark Pearson,

Betfred are offering a whole range of markets including top England series batsman in which Kevin Pietersen is the favourite at 100/30 although he has not hit a test century in his last 26 innings.

"Pietersen is a weak favourite but Ian Bell has been well supported at 11/2 to be England's top bat, while he can be backed at 12/1 to be the top overall batsman."
