England Logistics Wins Best of State 2011 for Freight/Logistics

SALT LAKE CITY, June 6, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- England Logistics, the nation's 11th largest freight brokerage firm based in Salt Lake City, was named the winner in the Freight/Logistics category for Utah's Best of State Awards for 2011. Now in its ninth year, the Utah Best of State Awards Program acknowledges excellence in a vast array of industry sectors including business, entertainment, education, hospitality, retail, technology, and sports.

The Best of State program is dedicated to recognizing and promoting outstanding individuals, businesses, and organizations throughout Utah. According to Chief Executive Officer Dana Layton, winners of the 2011 Best of State Awards have been rated and judged on their impact on the community, excellence and achievement, and innovation and originality. An independent judging process, featuring judges with category-specific credentials, has resulted in a confidential tabulation of results by the Gilbert & Stewart accounting firm and will culminate in a formal Awards Gala presentation on June 4, 2011. KUTV2's Shauna Lake and Mark Koelbel will emcee the event.

At the Awards Gala, winners will receive minted bronze gold-plated Best of State medals and will also be eligible to win the Best of State Statue (BOSS), a coveted 24-karat gold-plated bronze and granite sculpture that features the Best of State motto, "Excelling and Surpassing All Else."

This is England Logistics' first nomination and first win for the Utah Best of State award. Other notable state awards this year include Michelle Potter, Director Strategic Development and recipient of Utah Business magazine's "30 Women to Watch" recognition.
