Engineering Services Network Achieves CMMI Level 3 for Development and CMMI Level 2 for Services
ARLINGTON, Va., Jan. 25, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Engineering Services Network, Inc. (ESN), an engineering and technology solutions company that provides services to the Department of Defense and other federal agencies, announced today that it has achieved the Software Engineering Institute's Capability Maturity Model Integration (CMMI) Maturity Level 2 for Services v 1.3, and CMMI Maturity Level 3 for Development v 1.3.

This achievement demonstrates ESN's commitment to excellence as it works to attain top-level ratings for benchmarking commercial and defense industry best practices for management and engineering.
"ESN is committed to continuous improvement and delivering best-in-industry services and development," said ESN President and CEO Raymond F. Lopez, Jr. "Our commitment to performing at the highest level for our customers begins with achieving CMMI proficiency."
From 2010 to 2012, ESN was CMMI Maturity Level 2 for Development, as determined by the Carnegie Mellon Software Engineering Institute (SEI). To meet changes in the industry and SEI, ESN employees worked for more than 4,000 hours to achieve CMMI Maturity Level 2 for Services, a category not offered in 2010, and CMMI Maturity Level 3 for Development.
The CMMI ratings are the result of a unanimous decision by an assessment team that conducted a Standard CMMI Appraisal Method for Process Improvement (SCAMPI) at ESN in November and December 2012. An SEI-authorized lead evaluator with Changebridge, Inc. led the team of SCAMPI-certified assessors.
The benefits of using the CMMI include lower costs and increased productivity, quality and customer satisfaction. For customers, ESN's CMMI certification means they are working with professionals who are knowledgeable and skilled in the latest standard practices across the industry.
CMMI identifies process areas that reduce business risk for customers and suppliers of software or software-related services. CMMI is being used successfully by the DoD and more companies and government organizations worldwide as a blueprint for process maturity measurement and process improvement planning.
