ENERGYbits Chosen As One of America's Top Women-Led Sports Companies
Annual Contest Sponsored by OIWC and REI
BOSTON, July 20, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Boston-based ENERGYbits® www.energybits.com has won a coveted spot in Pitchfest, a startup competition for women-led sports companies that is sponsored by the Outdoor Industries Women's Coalition (OIWC) www.oiwc.org and funded by outdoor sports giant REI www.rei.com. As one of the winners, ENERGYbits® Founder/CEO Catharine Arnston will give a short presentation August 2nd in Salt Lake City, Utah.
OIWC holds an annual Pitchfest competition for women-led startups whose business focus is the outdoors. The most promising companies are selected as winners and invited to Salt Lake City to "pitch" their company to a star-studded panel of investors and outdoor sports VIP's. The event is free, open to the media/public (register here http://bit.ly/29YlFFl) and held one day prior to the Outdoor Retailer Show, where ENERGYbits is an exhibitor (Booth# PV1014).
ENERGYbits® is honored to be chosen as one of this year's Pitchfest winners. The award marks the third startup competition ENERGYbits® has won in the last six months and illustrates the rapid growth and interest in algae and their company.
ENERGYbits® Inc. is on the cutting edge of sports nutrition. Their algae tablets help sports enthusiasts, athletes and health conscious achieve peak performance using plant-based nutrition, all without caffeine, chemicals or sugar. Algae is recognized by NASA and the United Nations as the most nutritionally dense food in the world and is a multi-billion dollar industry in Asia where it has been sold for fifty years. Algae was virtually unknown in the USA until six years ago when ENERGYbits launched their national brand and made algae easy to take and easy to understand. Consumers, sports enthusiasts, and athletes have quickly become fans and the buzz about algae and ENERGYbits shows no sign of slowing down.
Catharine Arnston, Founder/CEO explains,"ENERGYbits® are 100% spirulina, an algae that provides energy, endurance, strength and focus. RECOVERYbits® are 100% chlorella, an algae that supports muscle repair, athletic recovery, immune support and anti-aging. Our algae tabs are plant-based "bits of food" that have just one ingredient and one calorie but contain more protein than steak, more antioxidants than cherries, more iron than spinach, more beta carotene than carrots, more calcium than milk and contain over forty vitamins/minerals nitric oxide and Omega-3."
As the damage caused by sugar becomes better known, the importance of fueling your body, brain and sports with plant-based alternatives like algae tablets from ENERGYbits® becomes clearer. No wonder sixty Olympic and Pro athletes, like NHL's Andrew Ference and three-time USA Olympian David Oliver, endorse ENERGYbits® and global shipping giant FedEx produced a video about them. Being selected as one of this year's OIWC Pitchfest winners only confirms what sports insiders already know. ENERGYbits® algae tabs not only work, they are a game changer for life.
ENERGYbits® Inc. is a six year old, privately held sports nutrition company based in Boston, MA. Their algae tabs are used by sports enthusiasts, athletes, health conscious consumers and wellness professionals. For more information or to purchase yours visit www.energybits.com.
