Energy Upgrade California® Launches "Play Your Part" Sweepstakes to Help California Stay Golden

SACRAMENTO, Calif., Jan. 20, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- From the blue skies to our towering mountains, there are a lot of great things to love about California. Energy Upgrade California is rewarding Californians who are doing their part to help California "Stay Golden" by awarding products to help better manage energy usage and support California's long-term energy goals.

"The 'Play Your Part' sweepstakes is a fun and engaging way to help Californians see there are plenty of ways to keep our homes comfortable while reducing our energy usage and maintaining our beautiful environment," said Regina Marston, Senior Manager for the Center for Sustainable Energy, the entity appointed by the California Public Utilities Commission to implement the Energy Upgrade California initiative. "Whether you rent or own, all Californians can create their own Energy Action Plan and keep track of the energy management actions they pledge to take around their homes. By doing just that, they can be entered to win prizes to help fulfill their plan to save energy, money, and California's great quality of life."

The "Play Your Part" sweepstakes requires all participants to commit to an Energy Action Plan, which details steps Californians pledge to take to better manage energy use in their homes. Upon completion and successful submission of their Energy Action Plan, all participants will be automatically entered to win a prize package to help complete their Action Plan. The sweepstakes began January 19, 2015 and ends March 31, 2015 at 11:59 P.M. PDT.
