Energy Services of America Files Quarterly Report
HUNTINGTON, W.Va., Feb. 13, 2020 /PRNewswire/ -- Energy Services of America Corporation (the "Company" or "Energy Services") (OTC QB: ESOA), parent company of C.J. Hughes Construction Company and Nitro Construction Services, announced the filing of the Company's Quarterly Report on Form 10-Q for the three months ended December 31, 2019. Net loss available to common shareholders was ($151,000) for the three months ended December 31, 2019, which was a $705,000 decrease from $554,000 in net income available to common shareholders for the same period in 2018. Revenue was $25.8 million for the three months ended December 31, 2019, which was a $23.3 million decrease from $49.1 million for the same period in 2018. The Company had an adjusted EBITDA of $856,000, or $0.06 per common share, and loss per common share of ($0.01) on a weighted average of 13,911,610 common shares outstanding at December 31, 2019. The projected backlog at December 31, 2019 was $63.2 million.
Douglas Reynolds, President, commented on the announcement. "While the results for the three months ended December 31, 2019 turned out better than expected, it was still a considerable decrease from the same period in 2018. First, most of the decrease can be attributed to the twenty-mile project in northern West Virginia that was in progress at December 31, 2018 and was completed in September 2019. Secondly, the remaining major projects in fiscal year 2019 were completed by September 30, 2019. Usually, our major projects in progress during the fourth quarter of a fiscal year will extend into the first quarter of the next. Finally, few new projects started during the quarter ended December 31, 2019, so most of our work was routine maintenance."
