Energy Program Provides Californians with Energy Efficient Home Solutions at No Cost
Energy Savings Assistance Program Helps Income-Eligible Customers Stay Golden
SACRAMENTO, Calif., Nov. 19, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- As temperatures drop across the state, Energy Upgrade California® reminds eligible consumers to take advantage of the Energy Savings Assistance Program to help prepare their homes for the cooler weather with energy efficient home solutions.
The Energy Savings Assistance Program provides no-cost energy efficiency solutions and appliance repair or replacement items to income-qualified customers, such as appliance upgrades and installation for products including energy saving furnaces, energy efficient refrigerators, and air conditioning units. Additional home energy improvement services may also be available at no cost, including, but not limited to, improved insulation installation, and caulking and door weather stripping to increase home comfort.

To be eligible for the program, consumers must rent or own a home receiving electric or natural gas service from a California utility company, meet the utility company's installation requirements, and meet the program's income qualifications. For example, a family of four with a household income of less than $47,700 that receives gas service from a participating utility company may be eligible for no cost energy efficiency improvements to their home. Below are the income qualifications:
