Charity Navigator -- an independent evaluator that annually ranks thousands of American charities for sound fiscal management, accountability and transparency -- offers the list as a reference guide to help donors make holiday giving decisions.

In addition, Energy Outreach is among the one percent of charities that have received a top four-star ranking from Charity Navigator for 12 consecutive years.
Since it was established in 1989, EOC has raised more than $192 million for energy bill payment assistance and energy efficiency improvements for affordable housing and non-profit facilities. Energy Outreach relies on individual donations, organizational funders and grants.
