Energy Future Holdings Retains Thompson & Knight as Special Tax Counsel in Bankruptcy Case

DALLAS, Sept. 17, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Thompson & Knight LLP is serving as special tax counsel for certain tax-related matters to Energy Future Holdings Corp. ("EFH") in the company's ongoing bankruptcy case.

The Firm is primarily responsible for (i) providing services related to certain tax issues, including, among other things: (a) the Debtors' request for a private letter ruling from the Internal Revenue Service ("IRS") and the tax issues of the related restructuring matters, (b) Texas tax issues not otherwise addressed by the Debtors' other professionals, (c) the resolution of certain historical and ongoing IRS tax controversies and (d) other discrete matters as directed by the Debtors; and (ii) providing services related to certain record retention issues.
