Energy Edge Announces Appointment of Dr. Benjamin Chavis
BRIDGEWATER, N.J., May 16, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Energy Edge Technologies Corporation (OTC: EEDG) announced today that Dr. Benjamin Chavis has accepted an Advisory Board and consulting position with the Company.
Over the past 40 years, Dr. Chavis has become one of the world's most effective leaders and strategists, having served previously as the Executive Director and CEO of the NAACP and currently working with a variety of organizations, including the United Nations, to further develop renewable and sustainable energy sources.

In the 1960s, Dr. Chavis worked with Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. and the Southern Christian Leadership Conference in North Carolina and throughout the South, and has since been a leader of humanitarian, civil rights, environmental, and economic development causes around the world. He also has a degree in chemistry from the University of North Carolina and is widely known as one of the fathers of the Environment Justice Movement. President Clinton appointed Dr. Chavis in 1994 to serve on the President's Council for Sustainable Development which focused on enhancing the nation's energy, economic and environmental policies.
In 2001, Dr. Chavis co-founded the Hip-Hop Summit Action Network along with Russell Simmons and he continues to serve as CEO and Co-Chairman of this widely respected and influential organization. He was the subject of the 2010 feature film "Blood Done Sign My Name" chronicling his early civil rights movement days. Today, Dr. Chavis is also President of Education Online Services Corporation and works with colleges and universities across the United States.
