EnduraData Announces the Release of Version 3 of Its Cross-Platform Wide Area Data Distribution Software
EDEN PRAIRIE, Minn., Feb. 1 /PRNewswire/ -- The new release includes support for cross-platform data distribution (Windows, Linux, Mac, Open Solaris, etc). EnduraData Wide Area Data Distribution Suite (EDWADDS) allows customers to replicate and distribute content from one to many sites and from many sites to one or more additional remote sites.
EDWADDS data replication and distribution allows customers to have copies of the data offsite for backup purposes, data sharing, workflow or process automation purposes.
According to Dr. Nimi, professor of Geographic Information Systems and Remote Sensing at IAV, "EnduraData's EDWADDS offers a true cross-platform and cost-effective solution that allows customers to distribute data across a global grid in an eco-friendly and very efficient way. The customer can now ease into cloud computing while making use of their existing investments, leveraging Linux, Windows, Mac, Open Solaris or any of their existing operating systems."
EnduraData's data distribution software is a host-based software-only solution. It can send data from one server, workstation or node to many servers. It can also send from many servers to a single server. EDWADDS allows organizations to consolidate or distribute data across many sites automatically to increase the ROI and increase investment use efficiency.
According to A. A. El Haddi, a software architect with EnduraData, "EDWADDS works with Mac, BSD, Windows, Linux, Open Solaris and various Unix flavors on various hardware platforms and with various virtualization solutions. Its data deduplication makes the data replication and distribution very cost-effective to solve a wide range of challenging business problems."
"Our environmental, GIS and remote sensing data will now be available instantly across many remote locations for collaborative processing and for product distribution," added Professor Nimi.
EnduraData's mission statement is "To deliver data to the user where he needs it when it is needed the most, at the lowest cost possible."
