COPENHAGEN, Denmark, July 14, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- "When will Endomondo sync with Pebble?" That question has been posed frequently by passionate users at Endomondo's blog. In response, Endomondo has released a dedicated Pebble smartwatch app for Endomondo Sports Tracker on iPhone.
This new, free app from Endomondo allows users to start, pause or stop a workout while exercising. The app can display up to three configurable data metrics, such as distance traveled, heart rate and workout duration – making it one of the most advanced fitness tracking apps for Pebble. Additionally, the app vibrates Pebble smartwatches for each mile or kilometer completed, and will briefly display a performance summary.
Endomondo's app for Pebble syncs with iPhone 4S and all iPhone 5 models. Exercise enthusiasts must be using the most recent version of the free Endomondo Sports Tracker available for download at the App Store, and download Endomondo's Pebble app from the Pebble store.
Mette Lykke, Endomondo's CEO, said the company intends to release an Android app to support Pebble later this year. She said it is all part of Endomondo's journey towards offering users a connected experience across several popular wearable devices so fitness remains fun and engaging.
Thomas Sarlandie, Developer Evangelist at Pebble, said, "Endomondo's Pebble app puts preferred stats right on wrists and lets users customize what's displayed without having to reach for smartphones. Pebblers have been eager for Endomondo integration and they're going to love the experience."
