EndoChoice® Awarded Premier Inc. Contract for Endoscopy Equipment, Products and Services

ALPHARETTA, Ga., Jan. 6, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- EndoChoice Holdings, Inc. (NYSE: GI) has been awarded contracts for imaging products, services and infection control products by the group-purchasing unit of Premier Inc.  The three-year contract is effective February 1, 2016 through January 31, 2019.

The innovative Fuse Full Spectrum Endoscopy^® system will now be available to Premier member facilities.  The Fuse system is the only flexible endoscopy system to provide a panoramic 330-degree field of view to physicians and clinical data¹ showed a reduction in the number of missed adenomas during colonoscopies.  The Fuse gastroscope provides a 245-degree field of view for upper endoscopy procedures.  These expanded and wide-angle views are possible because the Fuse colonoscope uses three cameras and two on the gastroscope; previously Premier members only had access to single-imager endoscopes from other companies.

Infection control products by EndoChoice including the patent-protected CinchPad® and EndoKits® are also part of the new contract. Endoscopy procedures involve long, slender cameras that are placed in patients to diagnose and treat a wide range of gastrointestinal conditions and diseases including cancer.  Prior to, during and after each procedure, to ensure cross-contamination between patients does not occur healthcare providers must follow important steps and processes.  Recently, national headlines have highlighted the importance of adhering to the guidelines from the major medical societies and patients are increasingly concerned about the risk of acquiring an infectious disease from improperly cleaned medical equipment.

EndoChoice's flexible endoscope repair services will be part of the Premier contract as well.  Each year there are an estimated 25 million endoscopy procedures performed in the US; the endoscopes used in these procedures require occasional service and repair.  Premier members will now be able to have their endoscopes serviced by EndoChoice master technicians.
