Employment Levels Continue to Rise in Silicon Valley, According to West Valley Staffing Group
Optimistic Hiring Forecast for latter half of 2011 in Silicon Valley
SUNNYVALE, Calif., Aug. 2, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Employment levels in Silicon Valley remain positive and are expected to increase or remain steady throughout the second half of 2011, according to West Valley Staffing Group's Economic Forecast Survey.
West Valley Staffing Group (WVSG) surveys an array of hiring managers throughout Silicon Valley about their upcoming hiring needs each quarter. The hiring managers come from several industries, including high tech, medical, energy, finance, semiconductors, and manufacturing. Each participant is asked, "Do you expect your hiring needs to increase, remain steady, or decrease in the next quarter and beyond?"
According to the survey, 91% of hiring managers predict that hiring will increase or remain steady during the second half of 2011, up from 90% at this time last year. Conversely, only 9% of hiring managers expect their needs to decrease.
"Our data shows that the greater part of hiring managers will be increasing their hiring throughout the rest of 2011," said Michael Williams, President and CEO of West Valley Staffing Group. "As more companies begin to hire, the talent supply will be affected and employers may struggle to find the right person, which will create a need to develop new recruiting strategies."
Of the more than 300 hiring managers surveyed, 33% actually expect their hiring needs to increase, while 57% expect no change in their hiring needs. Conversely, only 9% anticipate their hiring needs to decrease.
