Employees Still Confident Their Paycheck Is Accurate
SAN ANTONIO, Sept. 11, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Ninety-two percent of employees are confident their paycheck is accurate, according to the 2013 "Getting Paid In America" survey recently conducted by the American Payroll Association. The result is consistent with the 2012 survey, which also indicated that 92 percent of employees are confident their paychecks are accurate.
"Accurate payroll preparation and execution is a must-have for companies of all sizes because that's what employees expect – and it's a reasonable expectation," said Regina Lee, division president, ADP. "The confidence among employees that they can depend on employers for accurate payroll reinforces the effectiveness of automated time and labor management solutions, including increasingly popular mobile applications. Innovations supported by the American Payroll Association have been a key factor in the adoption of these technologies in the United States."
The "Getting Paid In America" survey by the APA asked "How certain are you that your payroll withholding and the net amount of your paycheck are correct each payday?" Over 30,240 of nearly 32,800 survey participants responded they are very confident or confident their paycheck is correct each payday. This is a repeat of 2012 "Getting Paid In America" survey results of 92 percent on the same question, showing consistently high employee confidence in the accuracy of their paychecks.
"The confidence of America's workers in their paychecks year-in and year-out is proof of the fantastic work being done year round by our nation's payroll professionals," said Dan Maddux, executive director of the APA.
The "Getting Paid In America" survey coincides with APA's annual public awareness campaign National Payroll Week (NPW), held annually during the week of Labor Day. Nearly 32,800 employees responded to the survey, providing insight into how employees are paid in America. For complete results, visit www.nationalpayrollweek.com.
