eMoney CEO Edmond Walters Honored for Giving Back to Local Cancer Patients

Cuddle My Kids hosted their sixth annual awards dinner at the Desmond Hotel in Malvern, Pa. on Thursday, March 6. The sold out event with more than 300 guests featured Mr. Walters, who received the Norma E. Ciccarone Award of Hope.  Norma Ciccarone was a wife, mother, grandmother and role model who lost her battle to cancer.  Norma's devotion to her family and community left a lasting impression on the lives she touched.  Every year, Cuddle My Kids chooses a candidate who demonstrates these values to commemorate her memory.

For seven years, Cuddle My Kids has supported cancer patients and their families, offering no-cost solutions to those who need a hand.  Ms. Gabrielsen knows from her own experience that it is a daunting journey.  Ever since building Cuddle My Kids from scratch, her mission to offer resources to overwhelmed families has seen many successes.  In fact, the organization's outreach has expanded from 15 to 700 clients – and they plan to grow even more this year.

Cuddle My Kids' mission is to serve as an in-home, no-cost resource for families with cancer.  Out program supports children through creative play, arts and crafts, and enrichment, while at the same time offering respite for the sick parent.  This provides cancer patients uninterrupted time to focus on their own medical issues and healing, increasing their quality of life during treatment.  We provide a six-week program with two in-house visits per week to qualifying families.  Cuddle My Kids also serves as a resource for educational information and wellness support for parents with cancer.
