Emergency Preparedness exercises at Fermi 2 Tuesday

MONROE COUNTY, Mich., April 14, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- There are two exercises scheduled Tuesday at the Fermi 2 nuclear power plant with the potential to attract public attention.
The first is a regularly scheduled emergency preparedness drill, which includes cooperative activity not only at the plant, but also at Monroe County and state emergency facilities. In addition, there will be drill activities at Monroe County Community College. These drills include mock emergency situations at the power plant.
In the second event, the Michigan State Police are conducting an exercise involving a helicopter. The helicopter is scheduled to land at Fermi 2 as part of this training.
