eMeals Hires Former "Southern Living" Executive Food Editor as VP of Marketing/Content
Scott Jones Joins Nation's Largest Online Meal Planning Service
BIRMINGHAM, Ala., Dec. 16, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Online meal planning service eMeals today announced the appointment of nationally recognized food and wine expert Scott Jones to serve as the company's VP of Marketing/Content. Jones was formerly the Executive Food Editor of Time Inc.'s Southern Living, and is a well-known culinary authority both in the media and through his consulting, publishing and education ventures Jones Is Hungry and Jones Is Thirsty.
At eMeals, Jones will focus on overall content and marketing strategy as well as partnership development designed to create new channels for the company's recipe development services and advanced meal planning technology. He will also coordinate blog, social media and public relations efforts aimed at growing the eMeals subscriber base. Currently, eMeals offers more than 50 meal plans delivered each week to subscribers' email inboxes and the eMeals mobile app.
"I'm a full-blown foodie with great training and experience, but even a confident cook like me struggles to plan everyday meals and come up with fresh ideas my family will enjoy. I know how hard it is, especially given that people are so busy," Jones said. "That's why I'm so excited to be a part of the eMeals team. Our meal plans meet people where they are—be it food style, health issues, budget or a combination of all three. Our gifted culinary professionals remove all the stress and anxiety by creating recipes and detailed grocery lists that do all the heavy lifting for our subscribers."
"Scott has been a consultant to our company for several years and has been writing the dinner menus for our Paleo meal planning program for the last 12 months. His credentials in food consulting and publishing are impeccable," said eMeals CEO Forrest Collier. "He will be an invaluable asset as we continue to grow our subscriber base and leverage the strong foundation we have built over the past 10 years."
Jones completed a Culinary Arts degree at The Culinary Institute of America in Hyde Park, NY, and also holds a degree in Magazine Publishing and Journalism from the University of Mississippi.
