Emdeon Launches Digital Delivery for Patient Statements with Advanced Data Systems; Announces Educational Sessions During HIMSS14
NASHVILLE, Tenn., Feb. 21, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Emdeon Inc., a leading provider of healthcare revenue and payment cycle management and clinical information exchange solutions, today announced the launch of Digital Delivery for Patient Statements, as well as being selected by its long-time customer Advanced Data Systems (ADS) to provide digital statements to ADS customers.
One of the more innovative approaches to improving accounts receivable turnaround time is a billing solution that enables healthcare providers to securely send invoices and other documents as an interactive PDF (iPDF) attachment to a patient's email address. Once the email is received, the patient is able to enter a password that was created during enrollment with the provider and view the statement or other communications. The iPDF file, which contains all the information the patient needs to pay the bill, is viewable on many different platforms, including desktop and tablet computers and even smartphones.
"Patients are now accustomed to making online payments and having the ability to receive a payment in seconds instead of the weeks it takes to process paper checks is invaluable to speed the cash flow cycle of our provider customers," said David Barzillai, president of ADS.
"Adding digital delivery to the ADS core technology offering builds on the strengths they offer healthcare providers," said Chris Meffe, senior vice president, channel partner group for Emdeon. "We are pleased to provide ADS with an innovative solution that patients are excited about to help them address the challenges our clients face in a very competitive marketplace."
Emdeon offers a suite of solutions for patient billing management that enables providers to automate the patient payment process. Emdeon's print, online and point-of-service collection suite addresses the challenges associated with billing and collecting patient receivables, which results in increased self-pay collections, improved operational efficiencies and reduced administrative costs.
Emdeon is the single largest clinical, financial and administrative health information network in the nation. In 2013, Emdeon processed more than seven billion health information exchanges, including approximately one out of every two commercial healthcare claims delivered electronically in the United States. Emdeon's industry-leading network reaches 700,000 physicians, 81,000 dentists, 60,000 pharmacies, 5,000 hospitals, 600 vendors, 450 labs and 1,200 government and commercial payers.
In addition to demonstrating the beneficial outcomes of digital delivery, Emdeon will also present short, impactful educational sessions featuring Emdeon and industry subject matter experts. All educational presentations will take place at booth number 5151 in Emdeon's in-booth theater.
