Elster has demonstrated its innovation by developing advanced metering solutions that already comply with "lead-free" initiatives; specifically the California Assembly Bill 1953 (AB1953) and for the future, the National Science Foundation's NSF-61 Annex F.
As a pioneer in the manufacturing of polymer-bodied water meters, Elster has installed more than 2.5 million polymer meters across the globe. These meters meet the AB1953 and NSF-61 Annex F standards.
A number of other types of Elster water meters, including its low-lead bronze model C700, are also AB1953 and NSF-61 Annex F certified. In addition, the company offers a comprehensive portfolio of stainless-steel, epoxy-coated ductile-iron and polymer-lined product offerings designed to meet no-lead directives.
"Our ongoing commitment to developing innovative, forward-thinking metering solutions continues to drive Elster forward in the worldwide water utility market," said Thomas Gwynn, president, Elster AMCO Water, Inc.
"The Elster products on display at ACE11 represent some of the industry's most revolutionary breakthroughs, empowering water utilities to update infrastructure and offer new customer services with advanced metering technologies," Gwynn added.
Elster will demonstrate four powerful water metering solutions and a revolutionary mechanical fitting at booth #2226 at ACE11. New to the portfolio are the additional sizes of the SM700 meter to include 3/4" thru 1", completing a comprehensive range of battery-powered electronic meters from 5/8" through 12".
- SM700—Ideal for advanced metering infrastructure (AMI) deployments, the polymer-lined, battery-operated SM700 Smart Meter features a no-moving parts fluidic oscillator, resulting in improved performance, accuracy and reliability.
- C700—The C700 polymer meter combines advanced engineering, such as integrated metal threads, and proven measurement technologies to support no-lead initiatives. A 3/4" polymer C700 will be displayed for the first time at ACE11.
- evoQ4—A stainless steel polyethylene epoxy-lined electromagnetic meter, the evoQ4 delivers high accuracy through a wide range of flows and varied conditions and applications.
- T4000i—An epoxy-coated ductile-iron turbine meter, the T4000i features the same proven helix rotor and magnetic drive measuring element as the bronze T4000 to ensure reliable and precise water flow measurement.
- Hydrosert® Mechanical Fitting—The industry revolutionizing Hydrosert® mechanical fitting line is a leak-free, 100 percent lead-free high-density polyethylene (HDPE) mechanical joining system designed to reduce labor and excavation costs while maximizing the quality of water service line connection.
