The AC-800 enables customers to reduce their costs while maintaining high, long-term accuracy measurement and reliability. The AC-800 weighs half as much as traditional diaphragm meters, which facilitates installation by a single technician and reduces the possibility for injury. The meter's design also incorporates a front mount index that enables the use of a lower cost residential style radio for automated meter reading (AMR) or advanced metering infrastructure (AMI).
"The AC-800 diaphragm meter is an accurate, reliable, cost-saving solution that enables utilities to improve bottom-line results while simultaneously enhancing their customers' and employees' safety," said Roy Sutterfield, president, Elster Gas North America. "Adding the AC-800 to Elster American Meter's industry leading line of gas meters further illustrates our continuing innovation and commitment to deliver the highest quality metering solutions."
The AC-800 features a die-cast aluminum case for superb durability and a maximum allowable operating pressure of 25 pound-force per square inch gauge. With molded, convoluted diaphragms and graphite-filled phenolic valves, the AC-800 has a long life expectancy. In addition, the AC-800 is AMR/AMI compatible, enabling seamless integration with any advanced metering project.
Elster is demonstrating the AC-800 diaphragm meter at booth #600 at the American Gas Association's Operations Conference & Biennial Exhibition, being held May 24 – 27, 2011 in Nashville, TN.
