Elsevier's Pure Launches New Modules to Make Grant Administration More Efficient and Help Institutions Reach Performance Targets
AMSTERDAM, July 8, 2013 /PRNewswire/ --
Elsevier, a world-leading provider of scientific, technical and medical information products and services, has announced the launch of two new modules in Pure, Elsevier's research information management system. These modules are: Award Management and Research Intelligence.
Pure, one of the latest additions to Elsevier's SciVal research management tools, aggregates an institution's research and faculty information and provides customized reports for research administrators, researchers and librarians. The system facilitates an evidence-based approach to making business decisions, setting research strategy and performing assessment exercises.
With the Award Management module in Pure, users are now able to track funding opportunities, structure the grant application process and provide an overview of awarded grants and related projects. The Research Intelligence module complements this by allowing users to set departmental targets and display these and other customized metrics, such as Snowball Metrics, on dashboards that can be easily shared with members of their organization. Together these modules help Pure extend its coverage across the research management life cycle, enabling the entire institution to more successfully track and manage their research effectiveness.
"We've developed these modules in close collaboration with our European user groups, including more than 20 influential UK universities," says Thomas Jorgensen, Director of Product Management at Elsevier. "These capabilities will significantly simplify the usually arduous procedures of pre- and post award management and make the processes transparent. These enhancements will make our clients more efficient, and help guide them through the complex logistics of grant administration."
"Pure frees up time for the research administration office and helps the different departments throughout the research institution with the grant management process and record the successes of the research performed," said Nick Fowler, Elsevier's Managing Director of A&G Institutional Markets. "The institution and its departments will be in a position to provide more information around the impact of their research and thereby improve their prospects for future funding opportunities."
