Elisabeth Schalij is recognized by Continental Who's Who as a Pinnacle Profession for her work in the Arts. Elisabeth is Professional Artist with her own company, Elisabeth Schalij Art.
Growing up in the Netherlands, Elisabeth was always surrounded by water and to this day, water is the inspiration for much of her artwork. Elisabeth specializes in Fine Art Etching, Collages, as well as Paintings in Oil, Acrylic, and Water Colors. Elisabeth's main focus is on Printmaking and she utilizes many different mediums to create her work. She is proficient in Printmaking techniques including Intaglio, Soap Lift, Hard Ground, Soft Ground, Serigraphy, Linoleum Cut, Wood Cut, Copper Plates, and Plexiglass.
Elisabeth's artwork is featured in Corporate Collections at the Four Seasons Hotel Presidential Suite in Scottsdale, AZ, as well as with The Smith Barney Citigroup, Wells Fargo Investments, Stephen Shoultz Attorneys at Law, C.C. Young Retirement Center, and Private Collections in the United States, England, Italy and the Netherlands.
Within the Community, Elisabeth serves as a Judge for the Dallas Business Committee for the Arts Exhibit, and is involved with the Dallas Office of Cultural Affairs Panel for Selecting Artists for Neighborhood Touring Program. In addition she is a Juror for "Focus on Fiber" show and a Judge for the Lone Star Calligraphy Exhibit. Elisabeth is also a Curator for VACD Monthly Exhibits, TVAA, La Reunion, as well as other Regional Art Organizations.
Elisabeth studied Printmaking with Linda Ridgeway from 2001-2005 at Cedar Valley College in Lancaster, Texas. In addition, from 1980-1990 Elisabeth was a member of the Arts Students' League of Pratt Institute, The New School for Social Research, located in New York City.
