OpenText helps ELIOR to Maintain its Competitive Advantage through Management of Supplier Orders, Invoices and Payments
WATERLOO, Ontario, Dec. 3, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- OpenText™ (NASDAQ: OTEX, TSX: OTC), a global leader in Enterprise Information Management (EIM), today announced that ELIOR, the largest contract catering organization in France and the third largest in Europe, has adopted OpenText Trading Grid to support electronic invoicing and payments to suppliers. Working with OpenText, ELIOR aims to simplify the exchange of high volumes of data, transform its relationships with trading partners, and streamline and accelerate key business processes.
Operating more than 10,000 restaurants in France, and serving more than 3.8 million global customers a day across 13 countries, ELIOR generates more than 200,000 invoices each month from hundreds of suppliers. OpenText Trading Grid allows ELIOR to automate invoice and payment processes, and to integrate vital invoice data into its SAP systems.
In the fiercely competitive contract catering market, OpenText has enabled ELIOR to move from an entirely manual approach to one in which more than 90 percent of invoices are processed digitally. For suppliers, this means prompt and efficient settlement of invoices, one of ELIOR's stated business goals.
"OpenText's B2B platform has become critical to our business," commented Franck Savarit, chief project officer at ELIOR. "Without it, we would not be able to efficiently manage such high volumes of invoices. Not only have we automated the invoicing process, but we have been able to use the data collected to help us develop future plans, and improve our trading relationships with partners and suppliers."
Following the success of the original project, ELIOR has extended its partnership with OpenText to cover the ordering process through OpenText Trading Grid, handling more than 850,000 electronic orders per year.
"The success of our business requires us to be very fast and efficient when dealing with suppliers, with all orders to our suppliers to be completed before 10 am every day. We used to manage these orders via phone or fax, which took us a lot of time and was not as reliable as we needed it to be. Working with OpenText, the whole process is now much quicker, more reliable and more accurate. In addition, the platform is fully integrated into ELIOR's SAP system, which makes it easy for everyone to communicate and handle orders," explains Savarit.
Invoice and order data is extremely important to the future success of ELIOR, and the company has initiated a project to build a management dashboard using the data derived from invoices. Ultimately, this tool will enable the company to track efficiencies by product or line of business, and boost management control, visibility and reporting. In addition, having a complete view of all partner and supplier data will serve to improve and inform ELIOR's position when negotiating future supplier relationships. With more than 20 million invoices to analyze each year, such a project would not have been feasible without an automated invoice management process in place.
The OpenText Trading Grid platform offers messaging and B2B Integration services enabling any-to-any transactions for small to large trading partners. The platform is powered by the OpenText Cloud, which processes more than 18 billion transactions per year, representing $6.5 trillion in commerce and integrating 600,000 trading partners for more than 64,000 customers around the globe.
