Eligible Achieves EHNAC Healthcare Network & Cloud-Enabled Accreditation

NEW YORK, Jan. 18, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- Eligible, the leading billing infrastructure company for healthcare, announced today that it has achieved full accreditation with both the Healthcare Network Accreditation Program (HNAP) and the Cloud-Enabled Accreditation Program (CEAP) from the Electronic Healthcare Network Accreditation Commission (EHNAC). As EHNAC's primary accreditation program, HNAP recognizes excellence in health data processing and transactions, and ensures compliance with industry-established standards and HIPAA regulations. Similarly, but developed in response to the privacy and security challenges of exchanging healthcare data across the cloud, CEAP establishes a trust framework between stakeholders, and recognizes superior cloud capabilities through extensive review in the areas of privacy, security, mandated standards, and key operational functions. These accreditations promise patients and providers that Eligible meets the highest standards in privacy and security, as it processes millions of healthcare cases each month.

Through the consultative review process, EHNAC evaluated Eligible in areas of privacy measures, systems availability, and security infrastructure, and reviewed Eligible's process for managing and transferring protected health information to determine HNAP accreditation. As part of EHNAC's primary accreditation program, HNAP verifies that Eligible meets or exceeds all EHNAC criteria and industry standards, thereby qualifying Eligible for EHNAC's secondary accreditations, such as the CEAP accreditation.

To award the CEAP accreditation, EHNAC reviewed Eligible's use of cloud services in areas of privacy, security, mandated standards, and key operational functions. EHNAC assessed the organization's health information and oversight for meeting privacy and security, HIPAA, HITECH, Omnibus Rule, and ACA requirements, as well as technical performance, business processes, and resource management. The comprehensive CEAP program requires 74 unique criteria to be met by participating organizations, as well as additional coordination with the organization's CSP.
