Elie Tahari and Arthur Levine Forge Partnership with Catherine Malandrino
NEW YORK, Oct. 12, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Elie Tahari and Arthur S. Levine announced today that they have formed a partnership with Catherine Malandrino, a designer and brand with wholesale, retail and e-commerce, including stores in New York and around the world. "I feel incredibly fortunate to have met such successful and talented people with a shared vision. Elie, Arthur and I will explore the full potential of the Catherine Malandrino brand," Malandrino said. The Catherine Malandrino brand began 12 years ago and has grown into an international icon of femininity, strength and style that is effortlessly chic. Fusing the energy of New York City with the romance of Paris, Catherine Malandrino designs for the women of the world. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Malandrino began her career in Paris, working at fashion houses such as Louis Feraud and Emanuel Ungaro, and later in New York City at Diane von Furstenberg. In 1998 she launched her eponymous designer collection, Catherine Malandrino, and in 2005 the collection was divided into the Catherine Malandrino contemporary label and Malandrino, the runway collection. Both lines are carried at luxury retailers such as Bergdorf Goodman, Neiman Marcus, Harvey Nichols and Tsum, and at Catherine Malandrino retail boutiques worldwide.
"We are really excited to be working with Catherine Malandrino. Arthur and I have a long history together, and we see great potential in Catherine's talent and unique vision. We look forward to taking the brand to the next level across major product categories and international markets," said Elie Tahari.
Levine added, "We can provide the resources and infrastructure to take this brand to a new dimension and believe strong consumer awareness and a defined brand identity make the Catherine Malandrino name poised for growth."
