Elie Seidman Joins Match Group as Chief Executive Officer of OkCupid

NEW YORK, June 2, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Match Group announced today that it has hired Elie Seidman as Chief Executive Officer of OkCupid. Mr. Seidman has over 20 years of experience leading and building consumer tech companies, and previously co-founded high-growth startups, Oyster.com and Epana. Most recently, he served as Chief Revenue Officer at BorrowersFirst.

Mr. Seidman will be responsible for the further growth and expansion of OkCupid. With more than 1 billion matches made since the company's launch, OkCupid is one of the leading, free online dating services. With Seidman's announcement, the company also said that Michael Maxim, current CEO of OkCupid, will segue to the role of ongoing advisor.

A veteran company founder, Mr. Seidman has spent his career building and fostering fintech, online travel and telecom businesses. Prior to that, he was the co-founder and CEO of Oyster.com, an online hotel review and price comparison site. Oyster was financed by Bain Capital Ventures and Scripps, and acquired by TripAdvisor (TRIP).
