Elemental Technologies Positions Itself for Enterprise Growth, Names Daniel Marshall Vice President of Sales
PORTLAND, Ore., Jan. 6 /PRNewswire/ -- Elemental Technologies, the leading provider of massively parallel video processing solutions, today announced the addition of video and broadcast industry veteran Daniel Marshall to its executive team as Vice President of Sales. With more than 25 years experience building and driving sales in the enterprise storage, media and broadcast markets, Marshall brings strong leadership skills to his new role at Elemental Technologies. As Vice President of Sales, Marshall will spearhead development of a global sales team and worldwide sales strategy to drive adoption of Elemental's enterprise-class video encoding products.
"Dan is a proven executive who offers a strong track record of strategic sales planning and execution to Elemental during a key period in the company's growth," said Sam Blackman, Elemental's CEO and founder. "We are excited to have Dan on board as we expand the Elemental Server product line and establish the customer relationships that will be fundamental to our success."
Prior to joining Elemental, Marshall managed sales, marketing and service divisions at companies working directly with enterprise IT organizations in the broadcast, storage, and SAAS markets. Most significantly, in his role as head of worldwide sales at Omneon Inc., Marshall helped the company establish a global footprint, achieve profitability two years ahead of schedule and grow revenue to over $125M. While at Omneon, Marshall established a high-growth partner program, managed a worldwide sales team, and created strategic supply agreements with a wide array of major broadcasters. Marshall also held executive sales positions at Storageway - where he was also a founder, MTI Corporation, and Mylex Corporation.
"The rising demand for new media and the ubiquity of video on a variety of platforms is fast creating a need for extremely large scale yet cost-effective encoding solutions. Elemental is perfectly poised to fill the growing need for enterprise-class encoding solutions, and I'm looking forward to working with Sam and the team at Elemental to address this unique opportunity," said Marshall.
Marshall is on the board of directors of Multimek, Inc. and holds a B.S. in Business Administration and Economics from San Jose State University.
