A version of EB's connected embedded navigation solution, EB street director will be demonstrated at the EB Booth #3220, North Hall and the QNX Booth #1837, North Hall.
EB's flexible and scalable navigation software solution, EB street director allows carmakers to easily integrate online content such as traffic information and dynamic points of interest (POIs). It comes with a 3D map display, green routing options and an interface to provide map data for an e-horizon.
Built on a single core, EB street director is the perfect base with which to conceive scalable navigation systems for different carlines and models. Equipped with an extensive feature set, including Living Maps, EB's latest 3D map engine; integrated interfaces for connected solutions that allow consumers to gather location-based services and information via navigation with minimized driver distraction, and an e-horizon that provides map data for advanced driver-assistance functions.
"We are proud to present our connected embedded navigation in the QNX® technology concept car at CES," said Markus Schupfner, vice president for Infotainment Solutions at EB. "The 'connected car' is one of the key investment areas for EB and we continue to strengthen our position as one of the leading suppliers in automotive software. Navigation systems are essential nowadays in modern street traffic. But this is just the beginning.
"Information about the driving environment and the suggested route provided by map material today could also provide valuable hints for driving behavior. With a detailed knowledge of the characteristics of the route, such as uphill and downhill slopes, speed limits or no passing zones, a wide variety of additional luxury features can be implemented even in low-end vehicles. EB continues to develop its products for these opening market opportunities."
EB street director is already shipping in the standard and premium navigation systems of Audi, Mercedes-Benz, Smart, Volkswagen and additional models.
"Our automotive customers are demanding highly sophisticated infotainment solutions, and they need them in shorter and shorter timeframes," said Derek Kuhn, vice president of Marketing and Sales, QNX Software Systems. "Teaming with innovative partners that offer road-proven technology is a critical part of our strategy, which is one reason why we're excited to work with Elektrobit and to showcase their innovative 3D navigation software in our latest technology concept car."
