Electric Utility Leaders Honored by Energy Central
Intelligent Utility magazine announces 2011 KITE Awards
AURORA, Colo., Nov. 18, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Three electric utility executives took home key industry leadership awards last week as Energy Central's Intelligent Utility magazine announced the winners of the 6th annual KITE Awards at a gala awards dinner at the White Oaks Plantation, part of Energy Central's Knowledge2011 Executive Summit, held Nov. 7-9, 2011, in Amelia Island, Fla.
The KITE Awards (for industry Knowledge, Innovation, Technology, and Excellence) recognize the outstanding accomplishments of electric utility Chief Information Officers, Customer Service and Operations leaders.

"The immense talent throughout the industry provided us with some difficult decisions this year. But these three individuals clearly rose above the crowd, moving their companies forward through strategic initiatives, measurable technology efforts, and innovative solutions that have met business results such as high efficiency, greater production, measurement and profitability."
This year's winners:
Reid V. Nuttall, CIO, OGE Energy Corp., was named Chief Information Officer of the Year for his innovative leadership through effective use of technology that supported OGE's strategic initiatives.
Paul Lau, Assistant General Manager, Customer, Distribution and Technology, Sacramento Municipal Utility District (SMUD), was named Operations Leader of the Year. In the opinion of the selection committee, he personified the leadership needed to use operational techniques to further his organization's strategies.
Gregory Knight, Division Vice President of Customer Service for Regulated Operations for CenterPoint Energy Inc., was named Customer Service Leader of the Year for leadership in the effective use of customer service to build his utility's initiatives.
