BOWIE, Md., Oct. 14, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Inovalon, Inc., a leading technology company providing advanced cloud-based data analytics and data-driven intervention platforms to the healthcare industry, announced that it has expanded its relationship and entered into a multi-year relationship with Elderplan, Inc., a not-for-profit health plan that is tailored to meet the needs of Medicare, Medicaid and Dual-Eligible individuals at every stage of health. Elderplan, an affiliated agency of MJHS, will implement Inovalon's quality improvement, predictive analytics, risk score accuracy and business intelligence solutions to provide an integrated suite for identifying and closing gaps in care, quality, assessment, and documentation for its membership population.
"For nearly 30 years, Elderplan has been at the forefront of offering a wide range of innovative health plans that are designed to deliver positive health outcomes and member satisfaction," said Vincent Marchello, MD, Chief Medical Officer of Elderplan. "We selected Inovalon and their industry-leading solutions to help enhance our existing quality initiatives through predictive analytics and insight, as well as to improve member care coordination and health outcomes. "Elderplan is a participant in New York State's Duals Demonstration Project: Fully Integrated Dual Advantage or, "FIDA", offering new managed care plans for certain "dual eligibles" – people who have both Medicare and Medicaid. New York State is one of 15 states to receive a multi-year federal grant to develop a demonstration program to coordinate care for "dual eligibles." The program will include a focus on providing technology and care support to Elderplan's FIDA membership in preparation for the upcoming New York demonstration program.
"Today, health plans are under increased pressure to not only measure quality of care, but to improve it in a meaningful way. It is essential to leverage healthcare data to analytically drive higher levels of quality improvement performance," said Jason Rose, Inovalon's Chief Strategic Development Officer. "We are pleased to expand our partnership with Elderplan to improve quality and financial outcomes through advanced data-driven solutions."
