EK Water Blocks Advances Water Cooling Technology With the Release of Electroless Nickel Plating
Electroless Nickel Plating, introduced by EKWB, one of the leading companies in the water cooling market, surpasses the target and ultimately raises the bar for other water cooling systems on the market
LJUBLJANA, Slovenia, Aug. 9, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- EKWB continues to pursue breakthrough ideas for water cooling products, manufacturing water blocks and whole water cooling systems. The company is the largest designer and producer of acrylic topped water cooling solutions, which, due to its transparency, allows UV lighting to provide an extra aesthetic look of liquid flowing in a user's system. The challenge, however, is that the interior of the block must meet even higher standards than a non-transparent cover. The solution is Electroless Nickel Plating.
The response from the community has been tremendous. This same community told EK about possible problems with nickel plating and, because of them, EK brought the next level of nickel plating blocks to the market. There are several advantages:
- Outstanding resistance to corrosion
- Dimensionally uniform thickness to within 2 millionths of a millimetre.
- Highly adhesive and solder able.
- Very smooth and wear resistant.
- Hardness equal to hard chrome and greater than electrolytic nickel
Electroless Nickel Plating is an auto-catalytic chemical technique used to deposit a layer of nickel alloy on a solid work piece, such as metal or plastic. The process relies on the presence of a reducing agent, which reacts with the metal ions to deposit metal.
"This new nickel-plating technique should satisfy the esthetic sense of our users even more," adds Edvard Konig. "We understand that users look for performance as well as esthetic solutions."
