Eisenberg, Rothweiler, Winkler, Eisenberg & Jeck, PC Files Lawsuit Alleging Gas Drilling Companies Created Unsafe Working Conditions at Susquehanna County Site
PHILADELPHIA, June 27, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- A complaint filed recently in Philadelphia's Court of Common Pleas asserts that gas drilling companies created the unsafe environment that led to Gregory Bret Walker being struck in the head with a pipe casing while working on an elevated gas rig platform in Dimock Township, PA. Walker suffered from significant head trauma following the incident and subsequently died.
Walker's family is bringing this wrongful death lawsuit against Cabot Oil & Gas Corporation, Dean's Casing Services, Pioneer Drilling, Inc., and Pioneer Drilling Services, LTD., asserting that they failed to provide adequate emergency escape devices, safety personnel, overhead head protection, safety systems, communications systems, and personal fall arrest systems at the Susquehanna County work site.
The work site also failed to conduct regular and reasonable safety meetings and was not inspected by competent and skilled safety personnel, according to the complaint.
"Gregory Walker's death is a tragedy that could have been avoided. We're bringing this civil action to make sure that other employees don't suffer from serious injuries as a result of these hazardous conditions," said the family's attorney Fredric S. Eisenberg, Esq., of Eisenberg, Rothweiler, Winkler, Eisenberg & Jeck, PC.
