Staples Canada showcases top tech products for the upcoming school season
TORONTO, Aug. 7, 2013 /CNW/ - Staples Canada, the leader in office supplies and Canada's largest online retailer, today announced the top tech products for back-to-school, covering the latest in functional - and fun - technology. Outside of school supplies, the retailer carries a wide assortment of technology including novelty USB drives, notebooks, headphones and tablets, making it easy to find the perfect item for every student before school begins.
"Technology has become a cornerstone in our education system," said Jot Toor, vice president of merchandising at Staples Canada. "Students are choosing products that speak to them, coordinating functionality with fashion, trends and fun."
A recent study found that technology in the classroom is not keeping up with the pace of change in the market. Although the majority of teachers see mobile devices, such as laptops (66 per cent) and tablets (62 per cent) as the most useful in their classroom, only 58 per cent have laptops and 36 per cent have tablets for use in the classroom.
