EIN News Enters 19th Consecutive Year Providing Internet News Services
WASHINGTON, June 28, 2013 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Before there was Google News, or CNN.com there was EIN News, one of the first ever news services to be launched on the Internet.
EIN News today is marking the start of its 19th consecutive year as a worldwide news monitoring provider, evolving from its 1995 beginnings as a kitchen table experiment by a husband and wife team.
EIN now draws millions of users each year, as it has for the past 18 years, with expanded services such as press release distribution, news feeds, events and conventions listings, deep news archival research and email newsletter development and distribution.
"And we continue to evolve," says David Rothstein, CEO of EIN News. "Just in the past few weeks we have updated our entire news format to make news search more intuitive for our users and more adaptable for mobile devices. We've unlocked services that once required paid subscriptions. And we've created a new, free category for press release distribution."
Rothstein and his wife, Gina Fratto, created EIN News in 1995, while living in Prague and publishing a paper-centric service for English speakers wanting to do business or work in Central Europe. Their first Internet site was Central Europe Online, and it became an instant worldwide success, drawing acclaim in newspapers and magazines in Europe and the U.S.
The following year, Rothstein and Fratto created news sites covering Russia and China and through the years have added sites for every country in the world, every U.S. state, and thousands of individual news topics.
"Our success," says Fratto, who serves as EIN's president, "is that we curate news that users have difficulty finding elsewhere. No topic is too obscure. And if we don't follow it, our users can either ask us to provide it or easily custom-tailor that news for themselves."
Rothstein and Fratto now live in Washington, D.C., where EIN's main offices are located. The company maintains business and engineering operations in Prague.
