Eight-Time World Champion Miss GEICO Announces 2015 Race Schedule
RIVIERA BEACH, Fla., March 12, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- The world's fastest offshore racing boat, Miss GEICO, begins its bid for a ninth world title with the first of 12 scheduled competitions of the 2105 season, including a photo opportunity for fans at the Palm Beach International Boat Show beginning Thursday, March 26.

Miss GEICO's first official race is set for Cocoa Beach May 15-17 at the sixth annual GEICO presents Space Coast SBI Grand Prix, and her season continues through to the GEICO Super Boat International World Championship races November 9-15. Miss GEICO will be defending its world title against competitors like the Sheik of Qatar, the Canadian national team, the Norway national team and several formidable American teams in the fiercest division in offshore racing -- the Unlimited Powerboat Class.

The Miss GEICO Victory boat is the fourth generation of the powerboat team's racing catamaran. The carbon, Kevlar and S-glass boat houses twin 1650 RACE Sterndrive engines that produce nearly 3,300 horsepower with top speeds exceeding 200 mph. Driver, Marc Granet, and Throttleman, Scotty Begovich, have been together since the team's inception and the dynamic duo harness the Miss GEICO boat's power on the water, supported by Crew Chief, Gary Stray. The Miss GEICO team includes a full staff of CDL drivers to operate a fleet of trucks and trailers, a support and maintenance crew for the race boats, the Caveman Cigarette VIP boat, a 31-foot safety boat and a team hospitality trailer.
