Eight IT Experts Chosen as Finalists in NCTA's CIO.IT | Competition 2011
Vendor Executives Will Present Their Solutions to Cable IT Challenges at Two Competitive Panel Sessions in CIO.IT Program at The Cable Show 2011
WASHINGTON, April 27, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Eight executives of vendor companies for cable industry Information Technology (IT) services have been chosen by a selection committee of cable Chief Information Officers (CIOs) as finalists in the second annual CIO.IT | Competition, a program of solution-based presentations scheduled for the CIO.IT program at The Cable Show 2011 in Chicago.
The eight finalists will participate in two panel sessions during the CIO.IT program on Wednesday, June 15, 2011, and present their solutions to some of cable's greatest IT challenges before panels of CIO judges. The judges will select their favorite solution concept from each panel after observing the presentations.
The Cable Show 2011, the National Cable & Telecommunications Association's (NCTA) 60th Annual Convention and International Exposition, takes place June 14-16, 2011, at McCormick Place in Chicago.
The finalist presentations, selected from a group of more than 45 applications received earlier this year, span a variety of major issue areas for cable IT professionals, including back-office requirements for "TV Everywhere"-type services; dynamic advertising insertion in online video and on-demand programming; harmonizing IT functions; managing advanced services over cable networks; and geo-spatial information analysis tools.
The rundown on the two competition panels, with their four finalists each, includes:
