EHE International President Deborah McKeever Joins American Cancer Society's Women's Committee for Hope
McKeever will support Hope Lodge NYC lodging and support facility during two-year term
NEW YORK, May 7, 2013 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- EHE International, a nationally-recognized leader in preventive medicine and annual physical exams, today announced that EHE President and COO, Deborah McKeever, has joined the Women's Committee for Hope, a group of female leaders committed to advancing the mission of the American Cancer Society's Hope Lodge in NYC.
The Women's Committee for Hope launched in October 2012 to support Hope Lodge NYC, a lodging and support center in midtown Manhattan for cancer patients and their caregivers who have travel challenges to and from their homes. The facility helps to reduce the financial and emotional stresses of seeking cancer treatment in New York City's world-class hospitals by providing free lodging. It is the flagship facility of a network of 31 Hope Lodges nationwide. Since Hope Lodge NYC opened its doors in November 2007, it has served over 9,000 people from 47 states and 32 countries.
"I'm honored to have been invited to serve on the Women's Committee for Hope and look forward to working with these great women to advance the important cause of the Hope Lodge NYC," said McKeever. "EHE has long been an advocate for preventive health as a provider of annual physical exams for the early detection of life-threatening diseases such as cancer. It's a great joy to expand that advocacy role and play a part in more people's fight against cancer."
Each member of the Women's Committee for Hope is committed to generating a minimum of $20,000 annually in cash or in-kind donations to support Hope Lodge NYC, and to working with other members of the committee to strategize on fundraising and external awareness campaigns. Committee members serve for a 2-year period. Other inaugural members include:
- Sandy Diamond, Hope Lodge NYC Capital Campaign Donor, Annual Supporter and Volunteer
- Lynn Jacobson, Hope Lodge NYC Annual Supporter and Volunteer
- Jayne Jamison, Vice President, Hearst Corporation; Publisher, "Seventeen" Magazine
- Dr. Nancy Lee, MD, Radiation Oncologist, Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center
- Christie Del-Rey Cone, Partner, Curley, Hessinger & Johnsrud LLP
- Daisey Holmes, Managing Director, Corporate Affairs; President, BNY Mellon Foundation
- Marilena Greig, Account Executive, AFLAC
"Deborah McKeever joins an accomplished group of women who are passionate about providing services for cancer patients and their loved ones," said Karen Radwin, the Senior Managing Executive of American Cancer Society Hope Lodge NYC. "We are excited to welcome Debbie to the Women's Committee for Hope and look forward to working with her and EHE International to ensure that cancer outpatients and their caregivers have access to quality care, and receive comfort and support during their most trying times."
