Four At-Home Chefs Take Home Cash Prizes in National Recipe Contest
CEDAR KNOLLS, N.J., Nov. 12, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- After reviewing thousands and thousands of recipes the results are in, and Eggland's Best has announced the Grand Prize winner and Category winners in the first-ever Eggland's Best "Your Best Recipe" Contest. Taking home the $10,000 Grand Prize is Donna Pochoday-Stelmach of Morristown, NJ, whose Peach-Blueberry Egg Bread Bake was named the overall Grand Prize Winner, as well as the Breakfast Category winner.

Eggland's Best has also announced three Category winners who will be awarded a $1,000 cash prize. Each Category winner represents the highest-scored recipes in the remaining categories:
- Appetizer Category winner - Devon Delaney of Westport, CT, who entered her Grilled Shrimp and Asparagus Avgolemono
- Main Course Category winner- Michael Barone of Hamden, CT, who entered his Korean Bibimbap Salad
- Dessert Category winner- Caroline Brody of Forest Hills, NY, who entered her Chocolate Hazelnut Espresso Cookies
Eggland's Best received recipe entries from all 50 states as well as Puerto Rico. The Grand Prize winner and Category winners were selected from the top 20 Semi-Finalist entries, which were submitted by entrants from coast to coast, including California, Florida, Mississippi and New York.
The Semi-Finalist recipes were judged by Candice Kumai, chef and cookbook author, and Elizabeth Ward, nationally recognized dietitian and author. Chef Candice Kumai and Elizabeth Ward tasted and scored each Semi-Finalist recipe based on the criteria of taste, presentation and creativity.
In addition, Eggland's Best encouraged consumers to vote for their favorite recipes through an online voting platform on the Eggland's Best website. For a 10 day period between September 20, 2012 and September 30, 2012, consumers were able to vote for their favorite recipes, garnering thousands of online votes.
